- 30-day free trial. The full app now runs for 30 days before a license key is needed, long enough for a whole production. Trials already in progress are extended.

SOUNDINDX — clearer menu bar card
- Blue wave on the menu bar card. The wave of the card in the menu bar is blue, so it cannot be mistaken for MIXINDX's card, and it follows the menu bar: a light blue on a dark or blue bar, a deep blue on a light one. The card on the drag image keeps its own blue.
- Tester keys. SOUNDINDX now also accepts numbered tester keys in Settings › Licence.

SOUNDINDX — safer project renaming
- Renaming a project is safer. Rename… now keeps a journal of what it is doing, so an interrupted rename (power cut, crash) is finished or undone the next time SOUNDINDX starts, and a few unusual cases are handled more carefully. Nothing else changes.

SOUNDINDX — ready to buy, Rename… for projects, and a new address for updates
- SOUNDINDX can now be bought. The Buy button in Settings › License and on the lock screen opens the store. One license key works on up to 3 of your Macs.
- Rename a project. Right-click a project and choose Rename…. The folder on disk is renamed and everything that points to it follows: compositions, favorites, descriptions, recent sessions and the loaded sound.
- The sound view clears when its content is removed. If you remove the last folder or project that holds the loaded sound, the waveform, name and card go back to the empty state instead of staying on screen.
- Updates now come from indx.audio, the new home of the INDX apps. Updating works exactly as before, and your library, settings and trial are not touched.
- Support and the website menu items now open indx.audio, and Help › Contact Support writes to support@indx.audio.

Your library stays indexed between launches
- SOUNDINDX now remembers your library between launches. It used to rebuild the whole index every time it started and read the audio info of every file again, which took minutes with a large library. It now keeps the index and only checks what changed: new files are added, changed files are read again, deleted files are removed. With no changes, even a 200,000-file library is ready in seconds.
- Favorites and descriptions survive a restart. They were lost every time the index was rebuilt.
- Files on a disconnected drive are hidden until the drive is back. This covers library folders and project folders alike, including search, Similar and Duplicates. The folder stays in the sidebar with its OFFLINE mark, and its files return when the drive is connected, so you never click a file that cannot play. A file that was deleted from disk while SOUNDINDX was closed is removed from the library the moment you click it, with a note saying so.
- Startup says what it is doing. With an existing index the status reads “Checking files… — Library is ready” instead of “Finding files”, and the All Files count is no longer marked provisional, because the library is usable from the first second.
- File > Rebuild Library Index… checks every file again and re-reads all audio info. Favorites are kept.
- Reading audio info is no longer slowed down by other work on your Mac. It ran at a low priority that macOS throttles whenever anything else uses the disk; with a busy Mac a large library could take ten times longer than it should.

SCRIPTINDX — deleting a cue no longer jumps to the start
- The view stays where you are. Deleting a cue, creating one, or undoing either used to scroll the script back to the first cue, which made working on page 50 painful. The view and the cue list now stay exactly where they are.
- Standby moves to the nearest cue. If you delete the cue that was on standby, standby passes to the nearest cue after it (or before it), not to the first cue of the whole script.

SCRIPTINDX — edit the cue list before you export it, import cues from CSV
- Edit the list before exporting. Export Cue List now opens a preview table where you can change labels, move rows within a scene and delete rows. The changes apply only to the exported file; your cues stay as they are, and Cancel brings the original back.
- Import Cue List. File › Import Cue List… reads a CSV (page, marked word, label, type, colour). A preview shows which rows were found on the page and which were not, before anything is created. Only the found rows become cues, and one undo removes the whole import.
- Move a scene. Drag a scene label to another line to move it. One undo puts it back.

Build 20261103-ae5fd12 · 3 Nov 2026
SCRIPTINDX — calmer cue layout, clearer modes
- Calmer cue labels. Labels now start at a constant left edge with a thin leader line to the cue, and are a little dimmer so the script stays the focus. On busy pages (ten cues or more) long labels are shortened to one line with a ellipsis; the full text shows when the cue is selected or hovered. Turn this off in Settings › Compact labels on busy pages. Export Marked Script matches the screen.
- Marking or running, at a glance. A badge and a coloured window edge show whether you are marking cues (MARKING), editing a label (EDITING) or running the show (RUN). GO behaves exactly as before.
- Safer Reset Run. Reset Run needs a second click to confirm.
- Page offset visible. When a page offset is set, the page number shows it.
- Search in labels. Searching also finds cues by their label text and highlights them in the cue list.
- Small things. A Reset button next to the label size slider, a hint while a label is being edited, and better names for screen readers.

Build 20261103-398ff13 · 3 Nov 2026
SCRIPTINDX — cues land on the right word
- Fixed cues drawn one line too high. On tightly set text, a cue could be drawn on the line above its word and on top of the previous cue's label, and a new cue on such a word landed in the wrong place. The cue frame now sits on the right line, on screen and in Export Marked Script.
Build 20261103-cb8663f · 3 Nov 2026
SCRIPTINDX — cue labels no longer clip or overlap
- Fixed the cue layout. Labels that wrap onto several lines were cut off at the bottom, and labels of neighbouring lines could land on top of each other. The room reserved for each label is now measured correctly, so every label shows in full and the gaps are the right size, on the screen and in Export Marked Script.
- Very dense pages. If the labels cannot all fit in the window at any size, the gaps stay as large as the window allows.
Build 20261103-668a33b · 3 Nov 2026
SCRIPTINDX — long labels wrap by themselves
- Automatic line wrap in cue labels. When a label does not fit beside the script, it now wraps onto the next line at a word boundary, and the label box grows with it. A very long word is broken instead of running off the page. A line break you make yourself still works. The stored label text is never changed, and Export Marked Script draws the same lines as the screen.
- Cue label size. The size slider in Settings and the slightly smaller default (14 px) from the previous update are included.
Build 20261103-16bbd30 · 3 Nov 2026
SCRIPTINDX — cue label size
- Choose the size of the cue labels. A slider in Settings sets the label size (10 to 32 px) and shows the value. It applies on the page, in the layout and in Export Marked Script.
- A slightly smaller default. New and unchanged settings now start at 14 px instead of 16 px, so more fits beside the script text. If you had picked 16 yourself, nothing changes for you.
Build 20261103-bc43cc3 · 3 Nov 2026
SCRIPTINDX — mistakes are easier to undo
- Cue settings open on double-click only. A single click on a cue just selects it, so an accidental cue can be deleted straight away without a settings panel opening.
- Undo a cue you just made. Right after you mark a cue, Backspace deletes it and ⌘Z undoes it, while the cursor is still in its empty label. Once you start typing, they work on the text as usual.
Build 20261103-7ddfbb1 · 3 Nov 2026
SCRIPTINDX — scenes and Export Cue List
- Scenes. Mark where each scene begins (the SCENE tool, click a line, name it). The cue list is grouped by scene, and you can jump to a scene, rename it or delete it. Scenes never affect GO, the standby cue or the numbering.
- Export Cue List. File › Export Cue List… makes a clean list of your cues as a PDF and a CSV, with scene headings, page numbers, type and colour as you choose. The script text is never included, and cue notes are left out unless you ask for them. Handy for sharing the plan with a director before the show runs.
- Safer marking. With Cue Mode on, Space and Enter no longer fire GO. Cue Settings opens on the label with its text selected, the page search selects its contents when you click it, and a click between words or lines marks the nearest word.
- Page numbers. The small page number sits at the bottom of each page, so it no longer overlaps the number printed in the script, and it follows the page offset.
- Tester keys. SCRIPTINDX accepts numbered tester keys in Settings.

SCRIPTINDX — search in Maximize Text, and the new INDX look
- Search works in Maximize Text (⌘F). With the sidebar hidden, which is how you use Maximize Text beside QLab, ⌘F (or / or ⌘G) opens the search field in its own strip above the page. It never covers the text: the page simply makes room for it. Enter goes to the next hit, Shift-Enter to the previous one, Esc closes the search and the page returns to exactly the size it had. Typing a page number still jumps to that page. Edit › Find… has the new shortcut.
- The new INDX look. New app icon, drawn separately for the small sizes so it stays clear in the Dock list and in Finder, a matching mark in the sidebar, and the name in the app family’s green on the start screen.

Version 1.0.0
MIXINDX 1.0 — a fader for every app
- Per-app mixing console. A fader, mute and solo for every app that plays sound, with live meters. Eight or sixteen strips, in the order you choose.
- Source grid. Drag any running app or bus onto a strip.
- Control from anywhere. The free iOS remote, MIDI Learn, and OSC control for Stream Deck and other senders.
- 30-day free trial, then a license key. Free updates for version 1.
- New app icon.
- Recording is in the works and will come as a free update for version 1.
Version 0.23.2
MIXINDX 0.23.2 — fixes from testing
- Recordings start with sound. A recording no longer begins with three seconds of silence.
- Real recording folder. Settings shows the actual folder (~/Music/MIXINDX) and a Show in Finder button.
- Check for Updates is now in the MIXINDX menu, and the window tab bar items are gone.
- Accessibility. Source tiles, strips, theme buttons, settings and the export card have proper names for VoiceOver.
- Fade tiles. An empty entry no longer turns a fade off.
- Tidier lists. Old empty recordings are hidden and cleaned up; empty strips in the Daylight theme are lighter.
Version 0.23.1
MIXINDX 0.23.1 — menu bar card and wave fixes
- Menu bar card. The optional export card in the menu bar now has the same size and shape as SOUNDINDX's card, with the same wave shaping, a percentage while the mix renders, a tick when it is ready and the MIXINDX mark when no recording is open. The wave stays yellow.
- Waves follow the sound. The card's wave now follows a soloed track and a short selection, and a track that ended before the recording did sits where its sound is, in the mix wave as well as in the card.
Version 0.23.0
MIXINDX 0.23.0 — record, mix the recording, drag it out
- Record each app. The REC button in the console records every playing app on its own track, plus the mix. A red dot shows in the menu bar the whole time, and the files stay on your Mac. The first time, MIXINDX tells you plainly what recording means and that you are responsible for what you record.
- One window. Sources and the console on top, recordings and their waveforms below. The old menu bar window is gone: the window opens from the Dock, and the menu bar can hold an optional export card instead (Settings › General).
- LIVE / PLAYBACK. Open a recording and flip the switch: the same strips become a playback mixer, one fader per recorded app, MAIN as the level of the whole mix. Flip back to LIVE and the live channels return at once. The balance is saved with the recording.
- Export card. Drag the balanced mix, or a selected region of it, straight into Finder, Logic or QLab. Set fades by clicking, dragging, scrolling or typing. Tracks, and whole recordings, can be dragged out too.
- Source grid. Every running app is a tile. Drag it onto a fader, or click to use the first free one; dropped on a strip in use, it replaces it. Eight strips, in the order you choose, with names, colours and groups.
- Themes. Booth, Studio and Daylight, with the same switch as SOUNDINDX.
- iOS remote. The pairing page now shows whether a device is connected and how to set it up.
- Tester keys. MIXINDX accepts offline tester keys in Settings › Licence.
Version 0.22.8
MIXINDX 0.22.8 — refined icon, safer menu bar spot
- Refined app icon. The new INDX Audio line logo now uses a larger mark that reads better in the Dock and menu bar.
- The menu bar icon stays visible. On a crowded menu bar (or next to the notch) macOS hides the left-most icons first. MIXINDX now takes a spot at the right edge, next to SOUNDINDX if you use it. If you move it with ⌘-drag, MIXINDX keeps your position.
Version 0.22.7
MIXINDX 0.22.7 — new look
- New app icon and logo. MIXINDX now uses the new INDX Audio line logo in the Dock, the menu bar and the app. Nothing else changes.
Version 0.22.6
MIXINDX never switches your sound card by itself
- No more automatic output switching. MIXINDX used to change the Mac’s output device on its own when a higher-priority device (for example AirPods) connected or the current one disappeared. That could move your sound to another interface in the middle of a rehearsal. It now only changes the output when you choose it yourself.
Version 0.22.5
New address for updates
- Updates now come from indx.audio, the new home of the INDX apps. Updating works exactly as before, and your settings, your licence and your trial are not touched.
- Support… and Licence Agreement… in the menu bar icon’s right-click menu now open their pages on indx.audio.

Look
- New app icon. MIXINDX now has the new INDX icon: the same four rows as the other INDX apps, with a gold fader on the second row. The small sizes (Dock list, Finder, menu) are drawn separately so they stay clear. Nothing else changes in this version.
